Which direction do I need?
The direction is measured from the HDMI plug, not from your TV or device. Look at the HDMI port you are plugging into and find the wide flat edge of the opening.
- Up angle: cable runs towards the wide edge
- Down angle: cable runs towards the narrow edge
- Left / Right angle: cable runs out to the side, viewed with the plug pointing away from you and the wide edge on top
Many TVs have side-facing or vertical ports, so the wide edge may face left, right or even down. Check which way your port's wide edge faces, then pick the adapter that sends the cable where you need it to go.
The straight adapters (male to female, male to male, female to female) fit any orientation.

About this cable
If your source and display have matching ports and support the resolution you want, this cable will carry the signal. Check the product specs on the page for bandwidth and feature support.
For 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz, shorter runs are generally more forgiving. Our longer runs are still rated for full bandwidth, but if you can keep the cable under 3 metres you'll have the greatest headroom. Choose based on your actual routing distance plus a little slack.
Yes, provided the total run and any joins are rated for the bandwidth you need. If you're running cable inside a wall, we recommend measuring carefully and leaving service loops at each end.
Yes. Our HDMI 2.1 cables pass eARC for lossless audio to soundbars and AV receivers, and CEC for unified device control where your equipment supports it.
This is a passive adapter unless the product title or description states otherwise. Passive adapters work well for most standard connections; for very long runs or special signalling, contact us to confirm the right choice.
